20世纪初,美国著名教育家杜威说过,人的成长是各种能力慢慢生长的结果。20年前,意大利幼儿教育家马拉古齐也说过,我们非常留意和尊重幼儿的时间,给予幼儿所需的时间,我们真的需要放慢脚步。就是说我们应该等待儿童。 在我们的幼儿教育中,“等待儿童”的必要性常常被忽视。我们不等儿童成熟,便急于把在成人看来一切有用的知识塞给儿童;我们不等儿童思考,便急于把现成的、可靠的答案告诉儿童;我们不等儿童尝试,更厌烦他们“出轨”,便急于完成心中完美的教学计划;我们不等有特殊能力或特殊需求的个别儿童,便急于维持全班步调一致的活动程序。 这是为什么呢?在笔者看来,主要有以下三个方面的原因:

We wait for children to mature, and we are eager to give children all the useful knowledge that adults see. We wait for children to think, and we are anxious to tell children of ready-made, reliable answers. We wait for children to try and even bother them. "We are in a hurry to complete the perfect teaching plan in our hearts. Individual children, who have special abilities or special needs, are in a hurry to maintain a consistent program of activities throughout the class. This is why? In my opinion, there are three main reasons for the following:
