在自然界中,植物是食物链的生产者,包括人在内的动物都是取食植物来源的食品,它也是碳氧循环最主要的实施者,通过光合作用把自然界的光能先转化成不稳定的化学能,再通过糖的合成变成淀粉,把它变为稳定的化学能。玉米在我们国家包括世界范围内,70%~80%的产量应用在饲料上。玉米籽粒生物反应器就是应用在饲料上,希望在玉米中高效地、大规模地表达对饲料应用有用的酶以及能促进生物有机体健康的维生素类物质,能够在动物的健康、绿色养殖方面发挥一点作用。
