用白鉄焊一上口徑14公分,高35公分,底直徑26 公分的圓筒。在筒的內壁口下3～5公分处焊一接蒸餾水的槽。并焊一小嘴通至槽外,使蒸餾水能过嘴子流出筒外,并在圓筒上面作一盖子。盖子像清朝的頂子帽,拱形底子的上面可盛凉水,蒸气在拱形底上遇冷凝結即可流入接蒸餾水槽內(見附剖面圖)。使用时將蒸餾器放在任何火爐上即可得到蒸餾水。
