In September 2004, at the third national coordination meeting on administrative law enforcement and supervision in Chongqing, the “accountability system for senior officials” practiced in Chongqing became the focus of the meeting. Most of the participants highly appraised the system and submitted it to the Legislative Affairs Office of the State Council Recommended in the country. The implementation of the accountability system for senior officials is an important measure for improving the administrative responsibility system in Chongqing. On July 1 last year, Chongqing Municipality promulgated and implemented the Interim Measures on Accountability of Administrative Heads in Chongqing Municipality. This is our first report
