一中国是一个主产稻谷的国家。水稻种植面积与总产量均居世界各国之首。据近几年统计,全国水稻种植面积占全世界的22.9%,总产量占38.2%。单位面积产量已达到5424公斤/公顷(1987年)。中国以占全世界耕地不到7%的面积而养育着世界五分之一以上的人口。在中国,水稻产区仅占全国耕地22%,而又养育着将近40%人口,充分说明了中国水稻生产在国民经济生活中的重要地位。
One China is a country that produces mainly rice. Rice acreage and total output ranked first in the world.
