武汉长江大桥是中国最大河流上的第一座桥,现已将近完工,较原计划提前了二年。同时这是中国乃至亚洲的第一大桥,为本国工程师所设计,用本国的钢料与机器,及本国的经费所造成。此桥实际兴工于1955年7月,预计完成于1957年9月。此桥乃一公路铁路联合桥,下层为双轨铁路,上层为六车道的公路。正桥全长1.156公尺,为三联连续菱形桁梁组成,每联为三孔,径128公尺。一岸引桥长为303公尺,另一岸为211公尺(图1)。全桥系统包括长
Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge is the first bridge on the largest river in China and is now almost completed, two years ahead of schedule. At the same time, it is the first bridge in China and even in Asia, designed for its own engineers, using its own steel and machinery, as well as its own funds. The actual construction of this bridge in July 1955 is expected to be completed in September 1957. This bridge is a road and railway Union Bridge, the lower double track railway, the upper six-lane highway. The full bridge, 1.156 meters in length, is composed of triple continuous diamond truss beams, each with three holes and a diameter of 128 meters.
