毛主席是指示我們:「從中華人民共和國成立,到社會主義改造基本完成,這是一個過渡時期。在這個過渡時期的總路線和總任務,是要在一個相當長的時期內,逐步實現國家的社會主義工業化,並逐步實現國家對農業、對手工業和對私人工商業的社會主義改造。這條總路線是照耀我們各項工作的燈塔,各項工作離開它,就要犯右傾或左傾的錯誤。」 這條總路線,指出了我們奮鬥的目標,指出了使我國逐步過渡到社會主義去的光明大道,和進行社會主義改造的辦法。 這條總路線,是燈塔,它光芒萬丈地照耀著工農業生產建設的發展之路,同時也照耀著教育建設的發展之路。教育工作者要是離開了它,同樣地會迷失方向。
