在冲模结构设计中,通常把冲模的主要工作部分(凸模和凹模等)分别与上、下模板连接固定为一整体,使其在冲压过程中,不允许有任何的“走动”。但在某些特殊情况下,把凸模和凹模等零件,有意设计成浮动结构,使其在冲压过程中,能随着模具间隙或冲压力的变化而“自由浮动”,这种结构的冲模,就叫浮动冲模。浮动冲模的出现,其目的是为了提高冲压零件质量和改善模具工作受力状态提高模具使用寿命。
