管理是一种社会现象,我国学者肖明在《管理哲学纲要》中指出:“作为哲学范畴的管理,是泛指人类在改造世界的过程中为了达到一定的目标所从事的对系统的一种协调活动”。教育管理历史悠久,但真正成为一门独立学科则是十九世纪末二十世纪初,它是在教育理论的指导下,对管理进行规划、组织、指导、协调和控制的过程。它的特点之一是实用性强,往往有针对性地提出解决矛盾的思路、视角和方法,在教育改革日益发展的今天,愈来愈发挥着重要作用。
