It has been shown that vinyl chloride is carcinogenic to rats and humans. It is reported that part of the vinyl chloride metabolism as a polar product excreted from the urine. Its outcome is dose-dependent and may have more than two metabolic pathways. According to the data, it is speculated that the carcinogenic activity of vinyl chloride may be caused by the formation of alkylating metabolites such as chloroacetaldehyde and vinyl chloride.
