I. INTRODUCTION The Honghe active fault is an important strike-slip NW fault in southwest China. It has a total length of 600km in China. Its northwest end starts from Eryuan and reaches southeast through Dali, Midu, Yuanjiang and Honghe and enters the territory of Vietnam at the estuary. The linear features of the active fault of the Red River in satellite images and the absence of moderate-strong earthquakes in the middle and southern parts of the fault in recent centuries have attracted the attention of Chinese and foreign scholars.
