编好一代志书,发展方志事业,必须坚持解放思想,实事求是。修志要从“左”的观念中解放出来,从已经形成的若干规定中解放出来,从通行的志书篇目中解放出来,修志不宜局限于三级志书等。
To compile a good chronicle of a book and develop the cause of ching-chih, we must persist in emancipating the mind and seeking truth from facts. In order to be free from the notion of “leftist” and to be freed from certain provisions that have been formed and to be freed from the general purpose of the book of records, the revision of the book of thought should not be confined to the books of the third grade.
