Piles of scrap are often produced during the construction of the building. No one will ever think of using the scrap for other buildings. The same phenomenon can also be seen in the demolition or dismantling of old buildings. One of them, we put forward several test objectives during the design of the Santa Cruz MM Residence in Tenerife, wastes the problem. First, the stairs in the building were lifted under the roof by pipes and metal plates disassembled from waste oil silos, welded with special metal steps and reinforced with some remaining short reinforcement. Secondly, we tried on the façade a slatted system made of galvanized water pipe and wood, which slats can adjust the lighting and out-of-window vision.
