The original 3 steel 8t oxygen top-blowing converters in a steelmaking branch of Handan Iron & Steel Plant are planned to be transformed into three 20t oxygen top-blowing converters on the basis of the old factory building. Due to the requirement of not affecting the use of the original equipment and its basics as far as possible during the transformation process, a variety of schemes were integrated, and a rare hybrid foundation at home and abroad was finally adopted. The renovation project has now been completed. Practice shows that hybrid foundations are, in some cases, a convenient, practical, and economical method of retrofitting old buildings. First, the original old workshop and the transformation of the technical requirements of a steel branch of the 8 8t oxygen top blowing converter, the annual output of 300,000 t. The span of its raw materials across the plant is 19m, used for the steelmaking department
