For the financial turmoil in Southeast Asia, there are currently two completely different views in economics. One view is that the financial turmoil in Southeast Asia has had a negative impact on the Chinese economy. Therefore, the pace of reform and opening up can not be large. If the reform is too fast, we will not be able to withstand the financial turmoil in Southeast Asia and other similar crises. Another view is that the financial crisis in Southeast Asia occurred due to the fact that there are many anomalies and distortions in the relations between the government and the market in the economic system of Southeast Asian countries. To sum up, it can be described in five words:
