石河子报,是新疆生产建设兵团农八师和新疆维吾尔自治区石河子市党委的机关报。从创刊到现在,5年多来的办报实践中,使我们体会到,只有办出地方报纸的特色,才能赢得众多的读者。泥土芳香“乡土新闻”当家,让报纸充满泥土的芳香,这是我们一直坚持的一条办报原则。我们的具体做法是:从物产、文化、人物、外事等方面来突出石河子的特点。石河子有30多种荣获国家和自治区优质产品的名特产,有大批获得科研成果奖的科研项目,如紫泥泉种羊场培育的军垦细毛羊,150团场培育的一胎多羔三北羔皮羊,下野地灌区培育的“红心脆”哈密瓜,八一毛纺织厂荣获国家银质奖的牧歌牌纯毛华达呢,
