1 P Sander’s strong argument in favor of electrical pulmonary vein ablation is that it is necessary to maximize the success of atrial fibrillation (AF) treatment in patients without heart disease or with minimal heart disease. Judgment of extensive RF-treated lesions based on an empirical (electrosurgical) rather than systematic electrophysiological catheter approach may be successful, but its prognosis is poorly graded, with a success rate that may be related to energy accumulation up to the left atrium
