檫树属樟科檫木属,为我国特产树种,产长江流域诸省,尤以本省分布最多,在新昌、嵊县、奉化、余姚、天台、宁波市、鄞县、诸(?)、绍兴、东阳、余杭、仙居、桐庐、富阳、临安和安吉等县都有生长。此树种为落叶大乔木,是一种生长极为迅速的用材树种,农谚道:“廿年檫树好造船。”如宁波专署林场1957年以来,共成片营造檫树林750亩,其中于1957年1月在相量崗流水岩造的7亩,至1961年底测定,平均生长高8.22米,胸径8.s厘米,每年高生长1.5
