Cytomegalic inclusion disease (CID) is a disease caused by cytomegalovirus (CMV). Congenital virus infection is one of the important reasons. It can pass through the placenta to the fetus, but also through the mother’s cervical secretions transmitted to the fetus or by breastfeeding and transmission. Maternal susceptibility is about 50%, incidence of about 3%, 1.5% of fetuses infected, can lead to stillbirth, miscarriage, premature birth, but also affect the important reason for children’s mental retardation. Etiology The giant cell inclusion body disease was identified as a viral infection by Cole and Kuttner as early as 1926. 1930
