原砂经过擦洗脱泥方法净化表面后,树脂砂强度大幅度提高。为达到同样的砂芯强度,可以显著减少粘结剂加入量。这对于提高铸件质量和降低成本有明显效果。擦洗脱泥处理的方法简便,排水无需特殊处理,成本增加不多。树脂砂强度得以提高的基本原因是去除了泥分对硬化剂和树脂的吸收作用;使砂粒表面原有的突起和沟槽裸露出来,提高了附着强度;清除了砂粒表面的酸溶性碱性氧化物包复膜。在擦洗砂中酸溶性碱性氧化物主要有两种存在形式:颗粒表面的包复膜和富集颗粒。前者对树脂砂强度的影响比后者大很多。需酸量不能区分开两种不同的存在形式,因而与树脂砂强度的关系并不肯定。
