一日,苏东坡陪高丽国(现朝鲜)使者出游,一路谈兴甚浓。东坡夸说我国妇孺村老皆善对联。使者即指身边宝塔,出一上联叫路旁一老翁属对:独塔巍巍,七级四面八方。谁知老翁听后连连摆手而去。使者轻蔑地说:“老翁不会对。”东坡笑道:“此翁已对出了。”使者问何说。东坡说,此翁已用哑谜对了。他不是以一手摆了摆么?这就是下联:
