随着科学技术的发展,日本机床产品也越来越趋向高速化、高精度化和多功能化,尤其是各种功能进一步完善并更相匹配。 1984年期间,日本研制的机床趋向以FMS为代表的大规模系统化,1986年期间研制的机床趋向以FMS为中心的实用性系统化;近年来研制的机床多是谋求增加机床自身的新功能并使其更为匹配,对结构进行改进以达到高速化、高精度化及适应数控装置。
