贺兰山是中国西部边陲的一座名山,雄踞于蒙宁交界,东坡与宁夏平原相连接,是塞上绿洲的天然屏障,西坡与阿拉善高原紧紧连接在一起。贺兰山是内蒙古的最高峰,它怀抱着银川鱼米之乡也孕育着苍天般的阿拉善。贺兰山,蒙古语称‘阿拉夏’,以后译作‘阿拉善’,内蒙古的阿拉善就源于贺兰山。
Helan Mountain, a famous mountain in the western border of China, is dominated by the junction of Ningxia and the east slope with the Ningxia Plain. It is a natural barrier to the oasis and is closely linked with the Alashan Plateau. Helan Mountain is the highest peak in Inner Mongolia, it embraces Yinchuan Yumizhixiang also pregnant with heavenly Alashan. Helan Mountain, Mongolian said ’Araxha’ later translated as ’Alxa’, Alxa in Inner Mongolia from Helan Mountain.
