曹永年教授是著名的中国北方民族史研究专家,他于1960年从江苏师范学院(今苏州大学)历史学专业毕业后,响应国家支边号召,来到内蒙古,被分配到内蒙古师范学院(今内蒙古师范大学)任教。自任教以来,在教学的同时,以中国北方民族史为研究对象,笔耕不辍,在《历史研究》、《中国史研究》、《民族研究》、《光明日报》理论版、《蒙古史研究》、《内蒙古社会科学》、《内蒙古大学学报》、《内蒙古师范大学学报》等学术刊物,发表了几十篇成果。为方便阅读,2011年,“内蒙古高校人文社科中国北疆史重点研究基地”恳请先生把文章予以订正,
Professor Cao Yongnian is a well-known researcher in the history of northern China’s ethnic history. After graduating from the history major of Jiangsu Normal University (now Suzhou University) in 1960, he came to Inner Mongolia in response to the call of the nation and was assigned to Inner Mongolia Teachers College (now Inner Mongolia Normal University) teach.
