United States Patent US2008 196801 discloses a process developed by the University of California technicians to improve the ductility of the Al alloy. The process of the processing includes the following steps: 1) heating the Al alloy until the temperature reaches the point at which the Al alloy can be completely formed into a single-phase coarse grain microstructure; 2) adopting a large plastic deformation such as rolling at room temperature or below, The grain size of the alloy is refined to less than 1 000 μm by the processing method; and 3) the alloy is aged so as to precipitate the second phase particle reinforcing phase in the nano-scale grains.
