Article 41 on the thickness of the compression layer is a problem, mainly in the following three aspects. The first is that the deformation value (ie, the ground compression amount) within a range of 1 m upward at the compression layer depth Z_n should not be greater than 2.5% of the deformation value in the entire compression layer range. This means that for a homogeneous foundation soil, the compressive modulus E_s is constant, as shown in Fig. 1, within 1m.
