In the past 35 years, some comments on the performance of mineral projects pointed out the shortcomings in the aspects of geological information and reserves estimation, beneficiation and metallurgical tests, the purpose and requirements of feasibility studies, and project initiation methods. Some Accidental But Reproducible Typical Cases That Lead to Failure in Mining Engineering There is some kind of commitment that is critical to ensuring quality and continually improving methods and obtaining “adequate data of adequate quality.” New international and Canadian programs that define mineral resources and ore reserves have taken an unconventional stance that will undermine industrial guidelines, guidelines, requirements and project feasibility for effective mine delineation and reserve estimates. In order to help reduce the problem, each feasibility study supporting mine development and production decisions should be based on a good business goal that is suitable for purposes and methods similar to the goal of completion of bankers as a profitable project . In resource / reserve systems, the use of reserves should be limited to projects that meet the technical, economic and legal feasibility required for the successful implementation of the project and that there should be a clear definition of these levels. The current shortcomings will limit “qualified candidates” to provide “appropriate professional practice” to fulfill their professional responsibilities to employers or customers and to provide appropriate information to the investing public. We must certainly benefit from the current opportunities for setting new standards for the new millennium.
