第五届全国甜菜品种区域试验总结会于1991年2月27日至28日在中国农业科学院甜菜研究所召开。来自黑龙江、吉林、江苏、内蒙古等10省(区)35位代表出席了会议。会议由中国农业科学院甜菜研究所副所长蔡葆同志主持,全国农作物品种审定委员会常务委员、糖料专业审定组副主任杨炎生同志作了重要讲话。与会代表汇报了1988～1989年甜菜品种区域试验的执行情况;全国甜菜品种区域试验主持单位——中国农业科学院甜菜研究所作了关于第五届全国甜菜品种区域试验综合汇总情况的报告。
The Fifth National Beet Variety Regional Trial Summary Meeting was held on February 27-28, 1991 at the Beet Research Institute of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences. 35 representatives from 10 provinces (regions) including Heilongjiang, Jilin, Jiangsu and Inner Mongolia attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Cai Baixin, deputy director of the Institute of beet, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences. Comrade Yang Yansheng, standing member of the National Crop Variety Approval Committee and vice director of the sugar specialty validation group, made an important speech. The delegates reported the implementation of regional trials of sugar beet varieties from 1988 to 1989; the report on the comprehensive summary of the fifth national sugar beet variety regional trials was conducted by the Beet Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, the national beet variety regional trial host unit.
