Objective To study the toxic effect of lead on the morphology and function of adrenocortical cells in guinea pigs and its possible mechanism. Methods Healthy male guinea pigs were injected intraperitoneally with 30 mg / kg lead acetate for determination of cortisol, aldosterone, ACTH (radioimmunoassay), serum cholesterol (enzyme linked immunosorbent assay), lead and lead in blood (atomic absorption spectrometry) Nitric oxide (nitrate reduction method). Results The blood lead and lead in the lead-exposed guinea pigs were reduced. The cholesterol content of hormone synthesis precursors was decreased, serum aldosterone slightly increased and cortisol and its regulatory hormone ACTH showed a decreasing trend. The mitochondria and endoplasmic reticulum of adrenocortical cells Damage. Conclusion Lead into the body to produce stress response, while the specific damage to the fascia caused glucocorticoid synthesis obstacles, lack of cortical cell NO synthesis may play an important role in lead endocrine toxicity.
