According to a recent study by the French “Research” magazine, French Interior Minister Francois de Bert was recently briefed by the journalist on the French science and policy issue of 1997 in France. Its main points are as follows: ● The French public research agency, in order to develop scientific research The work will increase the recruitment of researchers by 7.5% in 1997, most of them young people. For example, CNRS will recruit 285 researchers and 298 engineering and management personnel, compared to 261 and 231 in 1996 respectively. ● Early retirement will be encouraged in order to control the budget and promote mobility. As currently stipulated, the chief researcher can work until his retirement at the age of 68, and now the Inter-departmental Research Council has proposed that the time be advanced to 65 years. In addition, the agencies concerned may formulate some fiscal incentives to encourage researchers to retire between 60 and 65. However, retired director researchers may, if they wish, enjoy the relevant provisions of the honor retirement system and continue to lead the research work.
