3月20日,国家无线电监测中心举行了北京监测站启用仪式。这是我国建成第一个国家级综合性无线电监测站。该站建筑面积约1万平方米,总投资近两亿元人民币。北京监测站是全国无线电短波监测网和全国卫星监测网的最主要组成部分,拥有无线电短波监测系统、卫星监测系统和电磁兼容检测实验室,可以对国内外无线电短波干扰源、卫星地面干扰源进行测向定位,可以对30MHz～40GHz范围内各类无线电通信产品,以及其他非无线电产品进行电磁兼容认证测试。国家无线电监测中心北京监测站从2001年5月开工到2003年3月正式启用,
