新移民女性小说蕴含着独特而丰富的女性意识,主要表现为对女性欲望的表达、对女性自我的张扬以及对女性身份的追寻三个方面,它们都不是孤立存在的,互相之间有交叉也有融合,正是它们共同参与了对当今世界女性形象的重塑。与其他类型的女性小说相比较,新移民女性小说之所以具有这样的特质并不是偶然的:从主观上讲,与创作主体的“移民女性”身份相关;从客观上讲,代表了华人女性写作的一种新理路,因而具有独到而重要的价值与意义。
