屈指算来,对国梁的关注已经有十二、三年了,是从他学打“直拍横打”的时候开始的。 当时我在《中国体育报》负责乒乓球项目,在报道中对“直拍横打”的倾斜更多地缘于责任,国家体委的机关报应该有义务向基层传递新技术,鼓励新打法。 1990年的全国乒乓球锦标赛,国梁打得不好,球板背面的胶皮粘了撕,撕了粘,国家队和八一队教练的意见也不太统一。在此后两年的冬训报道中,我都特意单独成篇写过“直拍横打”,把这项新技术取得的点滴进步告诉大家。 刘国梁在1992年的中国公开赛一举成名,在成都,我房间里的电话一直响个不停,各路记者纷纷向我打探刘国梁的来路。大概唯独我没有对刘国梁当时取得的成绩大肆渲染,我给报社的老总打电话说,别怪我漏新闻,我们对“直拍横打”已经报道得很多了。刘国梁才16岁,赞扬太多,可能会使他头脑发热,对他的成长不利。
