2007年7月,重庆市纪委收到一封署名举报信,举报重庆市渝中区副区长王政、区委副书记郑维收受房地产开发商巨额贿赂。随即,经纪委调查并移送市检察院立案侦查,最终查清了王政、郑维以及沙坪坝区副区长陈明收受巨额贿赂的犯罪事实。2007年底,经检察机关提起公诉,王政被重庆市第五中级法院依法判处死刑,缓期两年执行,郑维、陈明分别被判处有期徒刑13年、10年。
July 2007, Chongqing Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection received a signed letter of complaint, reported Chongqing Yuzhong District Vice Mayor Wang Zheng, Zheng Wei, deputy secretary of the district real estate developers to accept huge bribes. Immediately afterwards, the Commission for Discipline Inspection investigated the case and sent it to the Municipal Public Prosecutor’s Office for investigation. Finally, Wang Zheng and Zheng Wei, as well as the fact that Chen Ming, the deputy governor of Shapingba District received huge bribes, were investigated. At the end of 2007, prosecutors filed a public prosecution. Wang Zheng was sentenced to death by the Fifth Intermediate People’s Court of Chongqing Municipality according to the law and suspended for two years. Zheng Wei and Chen Ming were sentenced to 13 years and 10 years respectively.
