档案馆该不该研究历史,档案界目前有两种意见,一种意见认为档案馆研究历史是“天经地义之事”,一种意见则认为“一定不能提倡档案工作者搞历史研究”。笔者认为,对这个问题作绝对的肯定或否定,都不妥当。辩证唯物主义告诉我们,对具体问题作具体分析,这是正确地认识客观事物的有效途径。档案馆有种类之不同,有级别之区分,因此,也就有各自的特殊性,岂能一概而论? 我认为,地、县档案馆应该研究历史,即研究地方史。浅见如下:
Archives should not study history, the file industry currently has two views, one opinion that the history of archives research is “a matter of course”, an opinion that “must not promote archivists engaged in historical research.” The author believes that it is inappropriate to absolutely affirm or negate this issue. Dialectical materialism tells us that a concrete analysis of specific issues is an effective way to correctly understand objective things.
