Summary：In the context of the Winter Olympics，the cultivation of practical English talents in higher vocational colleges is of great significance.We should focus on the cultivation of students'cross-cultural communicative competence and translation competence，and guide them to form correct emotional concepts，a thorough knowledge of the practical English culture of the Winter Olympic Games will not only contribute to the winter Olympic Games，but also provide help for its subsequent employment and development.

In recent years，the level of sports in China has been improved，and the international exchange of sports has become increasingly frequent，the demand for talent has gradually increased.Especially in the context of the Winter Olympic Games，it requires talents to master the theoretical knowledge in an all-round way，and form the practical operation ability in practical English.Therefore，in the environment of the Winter Olympic Games，higher vocational colleges should attach importance to the cultivation of practical English talents，improve the work plan of Education and guidance，and enhance the overall effect of practical English teaching and guidance.
