In this study, we extracted RNA from virus-infected cultured paraffin blocks and detected the viral RNA by reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). Compare the different fixatives and extraction methods and choose the best protocol. The actin mR-NA of different length (82 ~ 507bp) fragment was used as the control of cell RNA in the extract.
