合肥,因东淝河与南淝河于此汇合而得名,素以“三国旧地、包拯故里、淮军摇篮”闻名于世,是一座有着2200多年历史的古城。作为安徽省省会的合肥,是全省的政治、经济、科教、文化、信息、金融、商贸中心,市内道路宽阔、景色优美,既有现代建筑,又有名胜古迹。在这座古老而又年轻的城市中,中国传统赏石文化得到不断地普及与推广,赏石、玩石正逐渐成为合肥市民乐于接受的休闲娱乐方式。
