71年前的西博会“包装”1929年“西博会”,在安徽、湖北、上海及浙江省内75个市、县设立筹备分会,在苏州、无锡、常州、镇江诸地以及安南(今越南)南圻、爪哇(今印度尼西亚)万隆等地征集展品。参加筹备人员先后达数千人,其中在杭州直接参加工作的就有600余人。博览会原定10月10日闭幕,因参观者络绎不绝,延至20日。参观人数总计2000余万人次,全部展品合计14.76万件。筹备处专门设计了西湖博览会的会旗、会徽、纪念章、纪念册、发行有奖游券和纪念明信片。会场设有临时邮局,凡加盖“西湖博览会开会纪念”戳记的明信片,可免贴邮
