茶卡盐湖,被称为中国“天空之镜”.茶卡盐湖也叫茶卡或达布逊淖尔,茶卡是藏语,意即盐池;“达布逊淖尔”是蒙古语,也是盐湖之意.由于板块运动,原被海水所覆盖的亚欧板块与印度洋板块的交界地带逐渐隆起为青藏高原.在青藏高原的形成过程中,部分海水积留在低洼地带,形成了许多盐湖,茶卡盐湖就是其中之一.茶卡盐湖是柴达木盆地四大盐湖中最小的一个,也是开发最早的一个,与其他盐湖不同的是,茶卡盐湖是固液并存的卤水湖,镶嵌在雪山草地间而非戈壁沙漠上.盐湖水域宽广银波粼粼,天空白云悠悠,远处苍山峥嵘,蓝天白云、雪山映入湖中,如诗如画.
