草毒性喜凉爽,不耐高温干旱,若夏季管理不善,便会出现植株严重生理失调,甚至造成大量死亡。草莓越夏管理主要措施有:1)灌水保湿,遮阴降温。草莓根系较浅,抗旱能力较弱,且叶面积大,蒸发比较旺盛,如不勤浇水,保持土壤湿润,很容易引起茎叶枯萎死亡。因此,当地面露白龟裂时,有灌溉条件的地块,应在夜间沟灌,待水渗透苗地后停灌并排除沟内积水。无灌溉条件的地块,更应每天早晚泼水抗旱,泼足浇透,保持土壤湿润,降低地表温度。此外,最好在畦面上搭建1 m左右高度的遮阴棚,顶上盖些柴草,也可在畦边种植一些高秆作物,如玉米、高梁和豆角之类的搭架蔬菜等,但不能种植过密,以免通风不良,光照不足,影响草莓正常生长。
