Objective To study the relationship between serum n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids and high-sensitivity C-reactive protein in newly diagnosed type 2 diabetic patients. Methods Serum phospholipid fatty acid profiles were measured in 60 newly diagnosed type 2 diabetic patients (T2DM group) and 55 healthy controls (NC group) by high performance gas chromatography. Serum hs-CRP levels were measured by particle-enhanced immunoprecipitation. CRP) levels. Results The total amount of n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid (n-3 PUFA) in T2DM group was (6.08 ± 1.66)%, which was significantly lower than that in NC group (9.54 ± 1.54%, P <0.01) CRP was (7.26 ± 1.34) mg / L, which was significantly higher than that of NC group (0.83 ± 0.42) mg / L (P <0.01). Correlation analysis showed that there was a negative correlation between the concentration of hs-CRP and the total amount of n-3PUFA <0.05). Conclusions The serum n-3 PUFA content in patients newly diagnosed with type 2 diabetes is lower than that in healthy people. There is a negative correlation between serum hs-CRP and n-3 PUFA.
