Newspaper veterans are aware that the Internet’s classified advertising service is eating up the newspaper’s turnover. The recent interest shown by Google and Microsoft in the classified advertising business added to the concerns of the press, including fears of higher printing costs and concerns about a decline in newspaper circulation.
