紫杉(Taxus cuspidata S、et Z.)又名:东北红豆杉、朱树、赤柏松、日本称“一位”(意即“一品”),系紫杉科、紫杉属一个珍贵的第三纪孑遗树种。由于长期无限制的砍伐破坏,当前正处于灭种的绝境。为了保护和发展这个优良的种质资源,我们从1963年开始对紫杉的生物特性和营林技术进行了初步研究,近几年又开展了人工造林,现将有关材料整理如下,供参考。一、经济价值紫杉材质优良,纹理通直,结构致密,富有弹性,力学强度高,具光泽,有香气,耐腐朽,易刨削,不易开裂反翘,不含松脂,边材幅狭黄白色,心材红褐色,着色涂漆胶接性能优越,适用于乐器、雕刻、高级家具,美工装饰等用。此外、他的心材可提取紫色染料。
