陡岭杂岩作为华北、扬子两大板块间边界地质体中一个早前寒武纪构造岩块,有着长期的形成演化历史。它由变质深成岩和变质表壳岩组成,地质学和同位素年代学研究表明,它形成于2.0Ga左右的早元古代,经历了晋宁期和晚加里东-早海西期的区域变质作用。它在岩石组合,形成时代和环境及变质演化等方面都与北秦岭的秦岭杂岩有很大的可比性,很可能是由秦岭杂岩的一部分推覆而至。
As an early Precambrian tectonic block in the boundary geology between the two plates of North China and Yangtze Plateau, the steep ridge complex has a long history of formation and evolution. It is composed of metamorphic plutons and metamorphic crust rocks. Geology and isotopic chronological studies show that it formed in the Early Proterozoic about 2.0Ga and experienced regional metamorphism in Jinning and Late Caledonian-Early Hercynian. It has great comparability with Qinling complex in North Qinling in terms of rock assemblage, age of formation, environment and metamorphic evolution, probably due to a part of Qinling complex being pushed over.
