Ginkgo biloba is a special product of our country. It is a relatively common tree species. The common name is Baiguoshu. Because it grows slowly, it is also called Gongsunshu. In addition to the more common cultivation in Japan, cultivation in other countries is very small, only in their parks, cultivate some as ornamental plants, dotted with scenery. In front of the temples of our country, there is often a ginkgo tree. Its trunk is very straight, the leaves are small, and in summer it is cool under the trees. There is only one kind of ginkgo at present, and others have become extinct and become “fossils”. Therefore, this plant is called “living fossil.” According to geologists’ examinations, the tree was the most prosperous 20 million years ago and gradually declined and died. Fossils of this type of plant have been found in many countries. In our country alone, because our ancestors valued cultivation, this type of tree was preserved.
