This paper analyzes the differential equations of heat conduction in the unsteady temperature field of surrounding rock of roadway and its dimensionless form. The calculation principle and formula of variable pitch difference method are demonstrated. The changing curve of unstable heat transfer standard with the Fourier number is given. It is proved that this method is fast and accurate
