语言很少是自给自足的,在不同民族的交流和融合过程中,吸收借鉴其他民族的现象是非常普遍的,从各种语言中吸收外来词,诺曼征服时法语外来词是英语语言中不可缺少的组成部分。在当代世界各国语言不断交流和融合的趋势下,探讨诺曼征服时法语词汇是如何融入英语并对其产生影响将有利于更好地了解英法两种语言的渊源。
Language is seldom self-sufficient. It is very common to learn from the experiences of other ethnic groups in the process of communication and integration among different ethnic groups. Foreign words are absorbed from various languages and French loan words are not English language when Norman conquered Missing components.
