成功学的创始人拿破仑·希尔曾经聘用了一位年轻的小姐当助手,替他拆阅、分类及回复他的大部分私人信件。她的主要工作就是听拿破仑·希尔口述,记录信的内容。有一天,拿破仑·希尔口述了下面这句格言:“记住,你唯一的限制就是你自己脑海中所设立的那个限制。”当她把打好的信件交还给拿破仑·希尔时,她说:“你的格言使我得到了启示,对你、我都很有价值。”对此,拿破仑·希尔并没有怎么在意,但对女助手就不一样了。从那天起,她把这句格言深深地刻在了自己的心里,并付诸行动。她开始比一般的速记员提早来到办公室,而且在用完晚餐后又回到办公室,从事不是她分内而且也没有报酬的工作。
Napoleon Hill, the founder of Success, had hired a young lady as an assistant to unravel, categorize and respond to most of his personal letters. Her main job is to listen to Napoleon Hill dictation and record the contents of the letter. One day, Napoleon Hill dictated the following adage: “Remember, your only limitation is that of your own mind.” “When she returned the letter of lay down to Napoleon Hill She said: ”Your motto has inspired me and I am very valuable to you." Napoleon Hill did not care much about it, but it was not the same for female helpers. From that day, she deeply engraved this motto in her heart and put it into action. She started to come to the office earlier than the average stenographer, and returned to her office after dinner, engaged in jobs that were neither her nor paid.
