Leaders of minister of public security have been changed again. On May 18th, the website of the Central People’s Government of the PRC released news about appointment and dismissal of state officials: remove Liu Yanping from the post of Deputy Minister of Public Security, appoint Meng Yang,director of secretary General Office as deputy secretary of the state council.
Public data shows that Liu Yanping ranks the bottom among the incumbent 7 vice-ministers of the minister of public security. He was 60 years old now (born in August 1955), from Hebei Fengnan, titled armed police major general.
He used to work as deputy director of Beijing Public Security Bureau, vice director of Guard Bureau of Ministry of Public Security, politi- cal commissar of Guard Bureau of Ministry of Public Security; in 2009 he worked as director of Guard Bureau of Ministry of Public Security. At the same year, Zhen Shaodong(director of economic crimes investigation bureau), assistant minister of Ministry of Public Security was “detained”because of the serious violations of discipline, which led to a series of personnel changes in Ministry of Public Security. In August 2011, together with Li Wei, director of counter-terrorism bureau of Ministry of Public Security, Liu Yanping was appointed as assistant minister of Ministry of Public Security. During this period, he went to China University of Political Science and Law to study law; in Jun 2013, he was promoted as vice minister.
